THE CHALLENGE
The Avon Peaking Power Plant – owned by IPR-GDF Suez, Legend Power Solutions (LPS), Mitsui and the Peakers Trust – required a solution to treat all run-off and wash down water from plant to remove excess oil prior to discharge into an eco-sensitive estuary. FATA commissioned PROXA to develop a complete water treatment solution.
OUR SOLUTION
PROXA designed, built and commissioned pre-manufactured skids to ensure reduced installation time on site and seamless integration with the client’s civil, electrical and other mechanical works.
HOW PROXA ADDED VALUE
PROXA ensured that the treatment of the water was chemical-free, which in turn significantly reduced operating costs. PROXA also employed locals, thereby contributing to the development of resident enterprises.
FEED WATER
Oily plant washing water and run-off.
PRODUCT WATER
Water compliant to discharge standards.
PROCESS
Wastewater treatment system that consists of various collection basins to pump to oil separator.
Oil separator system based on API including lamella separator to treat different oily effluent streams from the peaking power plant.
Sanitary/sewage treatment system to treat the sewage effluent from the peaking power plant.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
PROXA was ever-mindful that the plant water would ultimately be discharged into an eco-sensitive estuary. Furthermore, PROXA supported the plant owner in their local procurement capability by employing locals and maximising skills development in the area.
