THE CHALLENGE
Mining and minerals giant, Glencore, needed to rehabilitate mine ground water from a defunct chrome mine site to acceptable levels for reuse in the adjacent smelter processes, enabling the smelter to reduce its water footprint.
OUR SOLUTION
Given that the chrome mine is no longer operating, the solution needed to be a cost effective one. PROXA provided a modular plant, meaning a quick delivery, small footprint, easy installation at the brown fields site, and minimal operating requirements. This in turn reduced the site’s overall operating costs.
HOW PROXA ADDED VALUE
PROXA’s extensive experience in mine water remediation enabled us to deliver a highly effective solution that solved two challenges in one. Moreover, the selected process is flexible to cater for variable feed-quality, whilst still robust to minimize on-going manpower requirements.
