Rupert & Rothschild required a wastewater treatment system that could recycle, reuse and create value-added by-products from their winery effluent in a sustainable manner.
Using state-of-the-art bio-engineering and separation technology, PROXA developed a custom-engineered system that produces irrigation quality water and a composting by-product for reuse as vineyard soil conditioner from cellar effluent.

Flexibility was key to the success of this project. As part of our R&D we ensured that the biological treatment system could adapt to seasonal variations in winery effluent flow rates and pollution loads with innovative operation modes.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
PROXA will oversee the plant through the wine farm’s first harvest. Thereafter we will skill local personnel with the necessary knowledge to take over operations. Compliance with the relevant environmental standards will remain a priority throughout the project’s lifespan.
