Effluent Treatment Plant
Pirate Life Brewing’s brand new brewery located in Port Adelaide required a wastewater treatment plant to treat the brewery effluent prior to discharge into the local council trade waste sewer. The new brewery with 8 million litres per annum brewing capacity was fast-tracked and would be delivered in only 5 months’ time. The plant had to have a small footprint and be able to treat a variable effluent stream.
PROXA designed and constructed a bespoke wastewater treatment plant incorporating a novel solids-liquid separator with fully automated pH correction and delivered the plant in 12 weeks. The wastewater treatment plant is equipped with cloud based trade waste quality monitoring providing real-time feedback on plant performance.
Trade waste sewer
- Flow rate 4L/s
- TSS removal of 20%
- pH 6.0 – 10.0
- Solid Screening
- Sludge dewatering
- pH correction
Flexibility of the process was instrumental to the success of the plant. Proxa provided a robust wastewater treatment solution that can manage variability in both effluent quantity and quality.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Proxa successfully integrated a solids-liquid separation process incorporating the processing techniques of screening, thickening and sludge dewatering into a single unit process, including raw feed buffering and pH correction dosing control within the available footprint providing robust wastewater solution. The effluent treatment helps to keep the breweries solid wastes and BOD low enough to comply with local government regulations.
